What is the importance of voting in American elections? Why do student votes matter?
-
What can people living in the US do to participate in the democratic process if they are not eligible to vote in American elections?
-
Voting is one way to participate in democracy. To vote you must be 18 or older and besides only voting, we can focus on other aspects. We not only vote for government officials, but we vote on issues as well. There are many voters who would like to make a change to their community, schools, roads, and so on. We can contact our government officials when we want to change or support the law. Voting in an election is what citizens who eligible to vote can do and contacting our elected officials are two ways that Americans can participate in our democracy.

What is the importance of voting in American elections? Why do student votes I personally find this topic interesting because in my country there is no voting? We do not get the chance to re-elect another president. I did not know the importance of voting in the United State till I attended school here and I learned the importance. Voting is your civic right however, not everyone can vote. Most American citizens over the age of 18 are entitled to vote in the federal and state election. African Americans did not have the opportunity they have now as they did back then. The 15th amendment was passed in 1869 which gave African American men the to vote. The importance of voting in the American election gives everyone the chance to make a difference not just for you but for your community. It is one of the most important right citizens have so why not use it during the election? the people are the voice; it lets the government know what we want as a community, what needs to the changed, and so on, therefore voting during the election is an important thing to do. Student vote matter because we are the future, it’s your right to vote. Many students do not believe their vote matter, however, over the recent years, it has shown that election can be decided by the number of voters. Student voting can change the future for the better, why not take the opportunity and vote. We can help change the historical trend happening.
